Wee Woollies Merino
Not all merino is created equal and we have sourced the world’s best from the purest alpine environment of Southern New Zealand. Our superior fabric is made from ZQ™ merino wool. ZQ™ fibre combines natural performance wool with an accreditation program that ensures environmental, social and economic sustainability; animal welfare (non-mulesed) and traceability back to the source. As an environmentally friendly Bluesign® approved fabric, our merino is processed without exposure to chlorine or harsh chemicals and is made with non-toxic dyes ensuring a completely natural product through and through. As a naturally flame resistant fabric, our merino passed Health Canada’s stringent flammability testing with flying colours; that means absolutely no chemical flame-retardants in any of our clothing or sleepwear.
So take comfort in your child wearing the very finest and purest merino, carefully produced using socially and ethically responsible methods in every stage of production. From happy sheep to happy kids, everyone loves our Wee Woollies!
Care Instructions: We wouldn’t make a product for kids that can’t be thrown in the washing machine with everything else. The great thing about merino wool is it maintains its shape and structure unlike some other fabrics that stretch and sag with use. All we ask is you use cool or warm water, preferably on a gentle cycle, and tumble dry low or dry flat. Merino garments dry quickly so avoid excess dryer time – they like it better and it will prolong the life of your garment. Watch for zippers and other items in the wash that can snag or pull the fabric. To prevent pilling, turn the garment inside out before washing. Should pilling occur, this is your garment releasing long or loose fibres which can happen in the first few washes. Washing with a pair of jeans will help remove those stray fibres. We recommend washing with natural detergents that are not packed with perfumes and fabric softeners. Fabric softeners will coat the merino wool fibres, making its amazing ability to manage moisture and regulate body temperature less effective. Do not use bleach. Care instructions can be found on the reverse side of the label on each garment.
